Human Passport To Immortality: The Resurrection / Initiation of Lazarus

We are instructed by Christ to preach the gospel of the coming Age, that is the gospel of love so that everyone of us should learn to love our God with our whole heart and our whole soul and our brother as ourselves. The question is, how do we preach such a high gospel to others? It is always by rendering UNSELFISH service to them. If we serve and help our families, we are preaching the gospel. If we serve our employers by working hard and with joy without thinking too much of the material remuneration, we are preaching the gospel. If we do philanthropic or charitable work in our community or in the world, we are preaching the gospel. In short, if we sincerely undertake any project in the world that will help improve the spiritual life of humanity without benefit to ourselves, we are preaching the gospel of Christ. They are all in the same way as one with the ability to explain the good news to others either by teaching, writing or lecturing.

The Bible contains a wealth of truth and esoteric knowledge. We in the Rosicrucian Fellowship School are privileged to know this, because we study the Book not from literal or historical angle, but from the understanding of the Mysteries as revealed by Max Heindel in the Rosicrucian Cosmo Conception.

The resurrection or initiation of Lazarus was one of the most important Teachings given by the Christ before His triumphal entry into Jerusalem. According to the Western Wisdom Teachings, King Solomon was reincarnated (reborn) as Jesus who received the Christ spirit at the time of His baptism. Also, Hiram Abiff was reincarnated (reborn) as John the beloved whose initiatory name was Lazarus. Lazarus was later reincarnated as Christian Rozencrux or Christian Rose Cross, the founder of our sublime school. We can clearly see from this analogy that the Rosicrucian Fellowship is the only authorised preparatory school of the Rosicrucian Order.

Thus, in this school promotion or initiation is FREE. It is only earned by merit and NOT by money. There is a beautiful passage in the Rosicrucian Cosmo Conception in connection with this subject and would like to quote it here for our benefit. “That no reader of this book may be deceived by impostors professing ability and willingness to train aspirants for a consideration, it is emphatically repeated that no true occultist ever boasts, advertises his /her occult power, sells occult information or lesson at so much each or for a course; nor will he/she consent to a theatrical display. His/her work is done in the most unobtrusive manner possible and solely for the purpose of legitimately helping others without thought of self” (Cosmo page 400).

As we are approaching another Easter, let us use the period to study and meditate on the resurrection of Lazarus as given by our beloved friend and servant of humanity, Corrine Helene who is still serving in the higher planes, as recorded in volume four of her sevenfold volume of New Age Bible Interpretation.

The nine Lesser Mysteries, also called the Lunar Mysteries have been given in some form throughout the history of humanity. The advent of the Christ introduced the new or Solar Initiations to the world, and it is to these higher truths, destined to serve humanity during the Great Sideral Year beginning with the Sun’s last precessional passage through Aries, that these Mysteries pertain. The religion of the Lamb bears a deeper and more far-reaching significance than is at the present time generally understood.

Lazarus was the most spiritually advanced of all the disciples who were under the tutelage of Christ Jesus (The others did not reach this attainment until the Day of Pentecost). Exoteric religionists are puzzled to the account for Christ’s delay of two days before going to the aid of Lazarus. The esotericist knows that Christ was aware that only the body of Lazarus was in the tomb, whereas his spirit was in the inner planes receiving the initiatory work that gives entrance into the deeper Christian Mysteries. The Master Jesus was initiated into these Mysteries in the Rite of the Baptism, and Lazarus, the next in spiritual attainment, at the time if his supposed death.

Christ Jesus described this Initiation in the words, “This sickness is not unto death but for the glory of God.” In other phraseology, Lazarus now becomes a more perfect channel for receiving and disseminating the glories of God upon the earth. Mary and Martha, the two sisters of Lazarus were among the highest in development of the women disciples of Christ. They were thus able to take part in the initiatory or resurrection Rite of their brother, as did the father and mother of Jairus’ Daughter. Mary symbolises the mystic path, or the faith of the heart, Martha, the occult path, or the reasoning of the mind. The union of heart (love) and head (understanding) produces WISDOM, the true essence of the soul. Lazarus represents this twofold blending, which lifts the neophyte to a state of consciousness far transcending that possessed by ordinary humanity.

Martha went out to meet the Christ, but Mary sat still in the house. Martha, the mind, is ever seeking through externalities. Mary, the heart, in stillness turns within to find the kingdom of heaven. Christ Jesus said unto Martha; “I am the resurrection and the life, he that believeth in me, though he dies, yet shall he live; and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?” And Martha made reply, “Yes, Lord; I have believeth that thou art the Christ, the son of the living God, even He that cometh into the world” And when she has said this, she went away and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, “The Teacher is here and calleth thee.”

These words of the Master to Martha have been called the HUMAN PASSPORT to immortality. They are not words addressed only to Martha, the sister of Lazarus; they are the call of the Christ to the reasoning or concrete mind of all humanity. “Be ye transformed by the renewing of the mind.” This is accomplished by linking the mind with the “I AM” consciousness wherein dwells the realisation of resurrection into eternal life.

The glorious message of New Age Bible Interpretation is that this consciousness can be awakened here and now; it is not necessary to await death to work this transformation. He that believeth in me, said the Christ, though he were dead (in materiality) yet shall he live again – in renewed body, environment, and concept of life – a resurrection into a new being on every plane of consciousness. Truly A HUMAN PASSPORT TO IMMORTALITY.
